Installed in October 2025, Rose Island: In Peace and War is a permanent exhibition created by H2 within the historic Fort Hamilton bunkers on Rose Island, Rhode Island — just off the coast of Newport.

H2 led the development, exhibition design, fabrication, and installation of the project—bringing the island’s layered history to life for the tens of thousands of visitors who come ashore each year.

The installation combines interpretive storytelling with artifacts, graphics, and a striking three-dimensional to-scale model of the island. This project required inventive design solutions to endure the barracks’ harsh, year-round coastal conditions and lack of electricity.

Every detail, from environmental design to object mounting and fabrication, was conceived and executed by H2 on a design & build contract.
