Just steps from where the first shot of the American Revolution was fired on April 19, 1775, the Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library brings this pivotal moment to life through powerful imagery, artifacts, and multimedia in a 2,000 square foot gallery that opened in April 2025.

Central to the design is H2’s metaphorical representation of the tear and division that ripped through communities as war broke out. Graphic design in media and print carries this metaphor forward using a torn or frayed edge while boldly contrasting colors underscore the division, symbolizing the moment when the old world was torn apart and a new nation began.
